AMANDA COLLINGE

Amanda is the Series Producer of Q&A, helping shape it into what is now regarded as one of television’s most successful experiments in public democracy. As well as choosing panellists, and guiding the show editorially, Amanda is responsible for selecting the on-screen tweets that feature live on Q&A. In 2016 she was instrumental in initiating and developing Q&A’s ground-breaking 50/50 target for male and female panellists. She has also produced two documentaries for the ABC’s highly acclaimed “Australian Story”.

Amanda Collinge has worked for 30 years as a TV and radio presenter, reporter and producer. She cut her teeth as a journalist at 4ZZZ.FM radio in Brisbane during the reign of Joh Bjelke Petersen. Several years at Triple Jay radio in Sydney followed , as journalist, EP News and finally presenter of the Morning Show.

During this time Amanda also made documentaries for Radio National, and worked on the innovative ABC youth programs, Beatbox and Blah Blah Blah.

Finally outgrowing rock n’ roll journalism, Amanda moved to Spain where she established her own media company, selling radio and TV features and documentaries to the BBC, Deutsche Welle and SBS Australia. For 3 years she worked as Madrid correspondent for BBC and Deutsche Velle and became fluent in Spanish. On her return to Australia, Amanda worked as a television reporter for the ABC and SBS on Lateline, Dateline and Insight. She won 3 United Nations Media Peace Awards for Insight, and a Logie nomination for her Insight forum on the trial of David Hicks.
